San Casciano dei Bagni, famous since the ancient Rome for its 46 hot springs and currently well-known for the new Fonteverde thermal spa resort, an ideal place to regain the psycho-physical well-being; the Il Poggio guests will enjoy special agreements as for the swimming pools entrance and some treatments. Pienza, home town of Pope Pio II; Montepulciano, Poliziano’s native land and heritage of artistic and architectonical goods; Sarteano, that boasts the recent finding of the Tomba della Quadriga Infernale, one of the most meaningful testimonies of the Etruscan parietal painting. How to get there
The Tuscan Il Poggio holiday farm is surrounded by magnificent rural greenery but getting there by car is easy from the A1 highway A1. If coming from Florence, take the Chiusi-Chianciano Terme exit. Those coming from Rome should take the Fabro exit. After paying the toll, follow the signs for San Casciano dei Bagni. Celle sul Rigo is just a few kilometers after Borgo di San Casciano dei Bagni.
The Chiusi-Chianciano Terme train station is about 29 km from the Il Poggio farm. From here we suggest you rent a car at the train station.
The Florence airport is about 150 km away. From here, we suggest you rent a car. Follow the directions under "By car". Otherwise you can take a bus or taxi to the Florence Santa Maria Novella train station and take a train to Chiusi/Chianciano. Follow the directions under "By train". The Rome Fiumicino airport is about 170 km. From here we suggest you rent a car. Follow the directions under "By car". Otherwise you can take a taxi or the Fiumicino airport - Rome Termini train station shuttle bus to the Rome train station. From here, take a train to Chiusi/Chianciano Terme.
